Polly Pocket Polly-Tastic Adventure Jumbo Jet

The whole idea behind the original Polly Pocket toys was that it was small enough (and fun enough, I guess) to carry around with you in your pocket all day. You could whip it out anytime, anywhere and start playing with it (no pun intended here). But ever since the company (Bluebird Toys) was sold to Mattel, the playsets have just gotten bigger and bigger.
Lately, the commercials I’ve seen for the new Polly Pocket toys are kinda funny. Almost all of the Polly Pocket toys made by Mattel are unable to fit in anyone’s pocket. Take this gigantic Polly-Tastic Adventure Jumbo Jet for example. It’s HUGE.

The plane is closer to the size of a sewing machine than anything else. You carry it around like a briefcase (soooo, fashionable) and you plop it somewhere and the whole thing literally explodes open. Inside the Polly-Tastic Adventure Jet is room for several different cabins/rooms and even its own miniature helicopter pad (mind you, that’s a helicopter landing zone within an giant airplane).
I don’t know about you, but Polly Pocket should just change its name to ‘Polly’ because the pocket aspect clearly has no place in its company philosophy anymore.
