Continuous song switching on the new Zune firmware
Firmware changes everything.
I’m entitled to say this since I own a 5G Apple iPod. The Zune is fast. Faster than the 5G iPod ever was. This is a fact.
If this were my iPod, the entire device would lag every 4th or 5th song that was skipped (it would go even slower if I always had album art displayed). The iPod just seems to handle fast track switching badly.
I don’t know if I should be impressed or not. But I do know that after a few years of accepting the slow speed of the iPod, the speed at which the Zune can continuously shuffle through songs and display album art is welcomed. Maybe the buffer is bigger on the Zune or something, but man…the Zune is speedy.

Hey it’s Will again I have some weird issues with my Zune. I also got my Zune off woot.com so i don’t know if you might have encountered the same problem. Some of my songs don’t play at all on my zune even though I have converted it and it got synched with my zune. The songs are from the same cd but some won’t play and just freezes. Also during the song the music disappear but the music would still be playing and then it would just go to the next song. I don’t know what’s going on. Should i just resynch my songs again? or should i try something else?

Also during the song the music disappears but the song would still be running like the time would be counting down. *typo*
