In case you missed it like I did, here’s the 75th annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony at Rockefeller Center in New York City!
Ashley Tisdale, Al Roker, and Nick Lachey co-host this year’s Christmas tree lighting.
The video above doesn’t really show the “instant” lighting for some reason (NBC might have just missed it), but the video below does.
The tree gets lit at 45 seconds into this video.
This year’s Christmas tree is eco-friendly! It gets most of its energy from solar panels and utilizes over 30,000 LED lights to save energy (and to make the tree seem brighter!). In addition to all these Earth-friendly ideas, the tree will also be recycled at the end of its term at Rockefeller Center and used as material for Habitat For Humanity.
Here’s the official tree at Rockefeller Center website. WNBC has a few facts about the past trees at Rockefeller Center.
Whee! This officially marks the start of Christmas season for me! For once, I am going to have a blazing hot Christmas rather than a cold Christmas. This should be interesting! :)

Ashley Tisdale is stupid.
