See you in 2008!

If you don’t already know, I’ll be away from Doobybrain.com for about 11 days or so. This basically means no internet, no updating, and no pictures for the next week and a half. For those that are curious, I’ll be on holiday with Flo — first in Sydney to ring in the new year (yay 2008), and then on a 3-day and 3-night cruise around the Whitsunday Islands in northern Australia. It should be an awesome time of fun, sun, and lots of random souvenirs (oh, and of course, the usual sights and sounds of the local areas).

In the meantime, please note that I will not be able to respond to any emails nor will I be able to read/respond to any comments here or on Facebook (and while I’m at it, I might as well include just about every other online service I’m a member of). Also, there are bound to be spam comments while I’m gone, so just deal with them for now and I’ll get them cleaned up when I come home.

If you want me to take a note of something, please use the “share” feature in Google Reader or email me the link, story, or idea by using the contact page.

I’ll be back in Melbourne on January 8, 2008. Keep safe and have a great new year! See you in 2008!

Universal cup sealer and cover

For Christmas, Flo got me this really really really cool cup sealer/cover. It’s the simplest thing I’ve ever seen but it works wonders!

Basically, it’s this silicone circle with a little devilish knob at the top that acts as a suction cup for just about any standard cup size. Once you plop the cup cover over the opening, the suction is so strong that you can actually lift the cup up by the blue knob at the top.

It’s really one of the coolest things I own. There’s no effort at all in putting the cup cover on. You just literally place it at the opening of the cup and then you’re set. No extra pushing or squashing needed. It just automatically creates suction. AWESOME PRESENT.

Flo also got me these neat little black and white salt and pepper shakers that hug when you put them together. You can see those inside.

My Christmas present: My Pal 2 electronic talking robot

December 26, 2007 @ 10:08 pm

Simon successfully got his hands on a vintage My Pal 2 as a Christmas present for me!

That’s straight-up AWESOME!!

Here’s a quick photo of it at home at the NYC apartment (it won’t be making a trip here to Australia because I’ll just eventually have to ship it back to the US again anyway). When I get home in the summer, it’ll be like reliving my childhood all over again!

If you want one, you can buy one at a premium price from these random sellers at Amazon.com.

Nintendo 64 kids on Good Morning America

December 26, 2007 @ 9:19 pm

Those two little kids in that hilarious Christmas-day present opening video featuring the N64 were all grown up in this segment on Good Morning America.

I didn’t know that the home video was later made into a BMW commercial…how odd.

Go to N64kids.com to see and read all about this runaway viral home video.

Oh yeah, they’re also on Inside Edition too.

Thanks Simon!

This post needs no introduction.

Here’s some photos of Michelle poking her head around Melbourne at the beginning of this month.

Let’s face it, my friends are better than your friends. :)
