A couple of weeks ago, Rainer and I went to the top of the Eureka Tower in Melbourne’s Southbank.

The Eureka Tower is the world’s tallest residential building, standing at 300 meters (or just over 984 feet) tall. It has 88 habitable floors with a lookout called the Eureka Skydeck at the 88th floor.

One of the main attractions of the Eureka Skydeck is The Edge, a glass cube that comes directly out of the side of the Eureka Tower and suspends you 300 meters in the air. When Rainer and I got to the top, we realized that viewing the outside was FREE while going into the glass cube, where you can’t even bring a camera or wear your shoes, was an extra $12. WHAT A RIPOFF. So we decided to skip The Edge and view the city FOR FREE like logical folks.

Check out some select photos inside if you want to see the view of Melbourne city from the top of the Southern Hemisphere.

I don’t know which direction this is facing, but here’s a view of the Melbourne coast, from 88 floors up.

And finally, the Eureka Tower snow globe. Because, you know, it snows so much here in Melbourne.
