The Big Pony Collection from Ralph Lauren

It’ll be hard for anyone to convince me to pay $125 for a polo shirt, but if I had to shell out that much for any polo on the market, it would probably be this Classic Metallic Polo from Ralph Lauren’s Big Pony Collection.

The Classic Metallic Polo features three large polo players on the front embroidered in gold metallic thread. The polo comes in three colors — carriage red (shown above), Polo black with red embroidery, and Polo black with gold embroidery.

I wasn’t a big fan of the whole single “Big Pony” logo that Ralph Lauren introduced not too long ago. But for some reason, I really like this large embroidered pattern of three golden polo players.

If you’re interested in paying the big bucks, Ralph Lauren also offers various versions of the same three polo players design in full-color embroidery and also full-crest versions that take up the entire back of the polo (you know, for those who are vision-impaired…and behind you).

You just missed their 30% off holiday sale. And I don’t like the # on the right shoulder!

According to their Style Guide (see here), the numbers are representative of certain polo game characteristics. The “3″ on these polos represent the most experienced player on the team. Go figure, eh?

Yeah, saw it on guy and just had to have it… got it for less than retail of course. It’s hot but not sure where would be appropriate to wear it.
