Gold. You can eat it, mold it, drive it, bake it, buy it, cut it, fold it, kiss it, store it, use it as money, and now, even use it in a facial!
Clearly, this $400 24-karat gold facial in New York City is worth your money…
It’s comforting to know that if I ever needed a gold leaf facial, I can have access to one in my very own home town.
Gold has been used for years to treat conditions ranging from rheumatoid arthritis to Alzheimer’s disease, so it’s not surprising it may have some benefit for the skin.
And it’s not the only precious metal on the beauty counter.
“Copper is an element that’s in a number of cosmetic, as well as medical skin care products. Its history goes back to its efficacy in wound healing,” says Dr. Dina Strachan, a New York City dermatologist.
Strachan isn’t surprised by the popularity of these costly creams. And the trend includes gems as well.
“There is a product out now that has diamond powder, and the diamond powder acts as an exfolient,” Strachan says.
This is a great way to trick rich people. Spa owner Veronica Barton Schwartz is onto something real big here judging by the inability of common people to retain any sort of common sense in spending.

it’s sad that stupid people are being taken advantage of :(
It’s not sad at all. People who can afford this sort of thing, and are vain enough to feel the need for it, need to have things like this to spend their money on. It’s all about conspicuous consumption. What I want to know is- do they get to keep the gold?
