Sinbad the 900-pound liger
Sinbad is a 900-pound liger, a hybrid animal bred by mixing genes from a tiger and a lion. Lions and tigers are big already, but the anomaly of one missing growth-inhibiting gene in the resulting liger offspring causes the liger to grow to an incredible size that dwarfs the lion and tiger parents.
Sinbad is almost 100 times the size of a house cat and about twice the weight of a lion or a tiger. Keep in mind also that Sinbad the liger is still a “kitty”.
The adult liger shown here could very well grow to become a real-life Clifford (the big red dog)…but of course, Sinbad would be a cat…and not red. The thought of having such a huge cat around is both frightening and totally exciting! THINK OF THE HUGE LOLCATS WE COULD ALL COME UP WITH!
