The Life of David Gale

For those who haven’t seen it yet, you must. The Life of David Gale is simply one of the best movies I’ve ever seen, and I think that had a lot to do with the film’s storyline.

The movie is about a group of people against capital punishment determined to go out and change people’s stance on the death penalty. When one of its members (David Gale) is sentenced to death row in the murder of another member, Gale invites one reporter to death row in order to tell the story of what really happened. The story that unravels is both disturbing and exciting to watch.

While the film, released in 2003, has not garnered particularly good reviews from film critics, the majority of “regular people” have rated it quite highly. Actually, the film SUCKS according to most critics. But then again, I never do agree with critics — I feel like they don’t understand widespread entertainment like the rest of us.

Anyway, anything I say will probably give a person who hasn’t seen the movie yet a bad reception to the film, so I won’t say any more. Just know that it’s definitely worth your time. So good, so good.

And remember: The crime is clear. The truth is not.
