And no, that headline is not necessarily talking about quality of the car either. This is straight up cheap as in PRICE. Yep, the world’s cheapest mass production vehicle is now made by Tata Motor Company based in India.
The world’s cheapest car is called NANO and is available for 100,000 rupee, or about $2500 USD.
Dubbed as “The People’s Car”, the NANO is on the verge of revolutionizing travel for a country of 1.1 billion people.
The car features 4 standard doors, 5 seats for the family, and just about everything you’d find in a regular car without the major price tag. The car is tiny too, measuring just 3.1 meters in length, 1.5 meters in width, and 1.6 meters in height. And heck, if that’s enough to pack into such a small price, the NANO also is “environmentally friendly”, which is probably a good thing if 1.1 billion people are about to go out and buy this thing.
And unlike a Smart Car which can possibly put you at risk of DEATH if you’re in an accident, the Tata NANO reportedly exceeds all vehicle performance regulations. Here, build your own Tata NANO here. Check out some more photos of it over at Autoblog.
