I just watched Smokin’ Aces last night and I thought it was one of the most clever action thrillers I’ve seen in a while. Mind you, I don’t see every film that comes out in this genre, but for what it’s worth, I think Smokin’ Aces is actually very good despite contrary criticism from various online forums.

The film plays out very much like a puzzle because it follows several different characters and their relation to one other character’s story. At first, you don’t really know what the heck is going on but I think that’s one of the great things about this film. It’s one of those movies where everything comes together later on rather than just plainly revealing every aspect of the storyline for you. There’s plenty of surprises throughout the film, so if you plan on watching it, just stick with it and you might find it rewarding.

All said, I’d totally buy the DVD for this film. I enjoyed it that much!
