Identity of Mona Lisa discovered in the margins of a book

As of today, all doubts about the identity of the person in the famous “Mona Lisa” painting (also known as “La Joconde”) have been eliminated.
Dr. Armin Schlechter,” a manuscript expert at the Heidelberg University library in Germany, discovered notes in the margins of a book dating back to 1503 which reveals the true identity of the individual in the painting as Lisa Gherardini, the wife of a wealthy Florentine merchant.
For years, there has been speculation that the portrait could be of one of several people, including Leonardo da Vinci himself, the artist’s mother, or Lisa Gherardini.
Here’s a small photo of the page in the book in which the notes about the painting were recorded.
