I woke up particularly early this morning, around 8AM Melbourne time (4PM NYC time). Normally, the first thing I do when I wake up is check my email. It’s a habit that I don’t really mind doing.
Anyway, the first thing that stared back at me when I opened my inbox was an email from Yelena, simply saying “OMG” and then a link to this article.
I then proceeded to read the article and soon found out that Heath Ledger had died around 3:30PM NYC time. I couldn’t believe it, really. An actor here one day, and then gone the next. I was really looking forward to his impersonation of The Joker in the next installment of the new Batman movies, The Dark Knight.
The Dark Knight was the last film he completed. He was currently filming The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. Who knows what’s going to happen with that film’s production now…

Heath Ledger’s IMDB profile has been updated with his date of death. And you can bet that the Wikipedia entry on him is buzzing with activity. Thanks to everybody who sent me the news and photos throughout the day.
i’m so sad, he was a very talented actor, and he didn’t deserve died. But that’s just the destiny and i hope he is ok wherever he is… I love Heath Ledger. R.I.P

He did an awesome roll in “The Dark Knight” and will most likely win an Oscar for it. But seeing him laying on that stretcher lifeless is just heartbreaking. He was even in the middle of making another movie, I swear if Mary-Kate has anything to do with this innocent mans death, im going to snap that little swig in half.
Looking at the image of him on the strecher is so incredibly sad, i just cant help crying. It wasnt his time to go, he still had so much he had and could do……
I just got back from seeing ‘The Dark Knight’ at the cinemas and i was blown away by his performance as the Joker. You forget that its him (thats what makes him such a good actor) and you also just forget that he is no longer with us. Heath Ledger was a great friend, husband and a wonderful father – He is and always will be such a beautiful and talented actor!
Goodbye Heath (you will always be remembered) and you will live on through your gorgeous daughter, Matilda.

dude heath was a stud i got fucking goosebumps watchin him in the theater it was creepier watching him knowing that he was dead it would have been great if there were more joker scenes in the dark night

I was shocked.. i am still in shock.. i saw every of his movie a couple of years before he died! i was madly in love with his acting capacities… for exemple in the movie The patriot.. he was extrordinary! i cried 4 days in a row.. i missed school because i was trouble by his death …. i never tought this could happen! in a way it’s stupid.. i cried 4 days for a man that didn’t even know i existed! but know what? it was worth it… i made peace with my sadness now… but every time i put back these movies in my DVD to watch them.. i can’t help crying a bit! … all those years i said to my self that i would become an actrice like him and would meet him… i based my acting talent on his career and i’m proud of saying it! i love him and i’ll always do! i will always love him as a sister! he was my mentor and now i’m all alone in this weird world of buisness and money! i will make my way trough this but it will be hard and long!

Exactly. It was a great loss, but get over. I would rather celebrate his achievements than mourn his loss. Honestly, I would rather discuss his death with a girl over dinner. Seriously, I’m going to open a fresh bottle of champagne, sit down and watch a Heath Ledger movie. I’m going to get some whores, some champagne and I’m going to watch the Dark Knight. The imaginarium of doctor parnassus will be an interesting movie. He’s being replaced with Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrel.

That’s pretty much what I did too and I couldn’t figure out why… but when I thought about it, I knew that it was because he was such a good man and he left his beautiful daughter behind…but when you think about it he’s had a pretty tough life that he’s had to live. But he left with the satisfaction of completeing his goal, and that was to be an actor, a face to remember.
Like I have said many times, even though he is dead, his spirit is not, because every time we watch a movie with him in it we remember him and how he lived his dream to the fullest.

I still can’t believe it. Over a year ago Heath was alive, I was in Soho 2 days before he died. I still can’t grasp that he really is gone, it breaks my heart that his life was cut short by pills. Pills is something I personal have watched someone I love dearly struggle with. My heart aches for Matilda, Heath seemed like an outstanding father. Its unfair that she will have to grow up without him being able to raise her. My heart goes out to her and Michelle. Even though its been a year, it must be a struggle everyday. We miss you Heath. So much.
