I’m having a blast browsing through all of the crapload of information made easily accessible at EveryBlock (what’s with tech companies these days bunching together two words without a space in between them?).
EveryBlock is a “news feed for your block”. The site currently covers three cities — Chicago, New York City, and San Francisco — and just about gives you all the information you might want to know about what’s going on in your neighborhood. From restaurant inspections, building inspections and violations, to crime reports, to missed connections, and even lost and found postings, EveryBlock is pretty much where you want to go to get the down-low.
To me, it feels like a mix between the best of Yelp and Craigslist (man, I haven’t used Craigslist in a while). Definitely a useful website to bookmark.
And just for fun, here’s the restaurant inspection report for the Dunkin Donuts that’s closest to my NYC apartment. Yep, ZERO violation points. :)
