Fully Flared DVD intro

This is the greatest skate video I’ve ever seen. And this is only the introduction to Lakai’s Fully Flared DVD. I bet the entire DVD is just as good.

The introduction to this DVD features some of the team members skating around in a skate park while their surroundings get blown up, crashed through, and set on fire. It’s the genius work of directors Ty Evans, Spike Jonze and Cory Weincheque. Nothing could look cooler.

My goodness, it’s just so beautiful to watch in slow motion!
If you’re curious, the song in this video is “Lower Your Eyelids to Die With the Sun” by M83.

I assume that the Casio EX-F1 will be able to shoot video similar to this (the camera used to film most of the Fully Flared DVD was the Sony DCR-VX1000). You can pretty much bet that if I get my hands on that Casio camera, that I’ll be shooting everything at an incredibly high frame rate just for the heck of it.

Here’s an interview with Ty Evans who directed the DVD.

That intro was beautiful and I think spiritual in a sense.

that was amazing. in a sense clearing stairs like that to the skater feels like youve “destroyed” it. in a good way. and to actually see that was really mind blowing. no pun intended. thanks for the vid

    What’s with all the explosions?

And I don’t know why, but I laughed so hard when that guy went straight through the wall.
