Fidel Castro resigns as President of Cuba

Fidel Castro, Cuba’s [now former] President (1976-2008) and former Prime Minister officially resigned from his duties as President on Tuesday morning, February 19, 2008.
Castro is 81 years old.
Fidel Castro’s younger brother, Raul Castro, 76, is expected to be Cuba’s next President.
