If you were wondering what USA 193 looked like, here it is at launch back in December 2006. The satellite launched as part of a Delta II carrier rocket.

USA 193 is the official name of the failed spy satellite that was shot down successfully by the United States Navy at approximately 10:26PM EST on Wednesday, February 20, 2008.

The spy satellite needed to be shot down because it’s falling trajectory posed a threat to human life. The satellite carried hazardous materials and gases and secret technology and information.

There’s a press conference scheduled for 7AM EST (February 21, 2008) to discuss the successful operation. Hopefully, the Navy will release photos of SOMETHING exploding in the sky. If they do, you can bet that I’ll make a post for that too.
