One sure-fire way to drive up the price of anything these days is to cover it in tacky, shiny crystals. Hasbro, the maker of the classic Scrabble game, has done just that to the original Scrabble board. The result is a game board covered in Swarovski crystals and costing $20,000. [via]

The pricey Scrabble board was shown at the American International Toy Fair in New York Cityon February, 14, 2008.

Hasbro commissioned the limited-edition game board to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the game. This particular item will be auctioned off this summer and all the proceeds will go to benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

By the way, did you know that you can order just the Scrabble game board and other single game-related items as a replacement from Hasbro? All you have to do is select the game you want replacement parts for, and then fill out and mail in the form. This is handy if you wanted, say, 1000 Monopoly houses…just for fun.

Hey!

I just checked out The Rasmus new Fan Page on Facebook where you can play the latest tunes from the BLACK ROSES album…
The fifth song “Your Forgiveness” is so much better than the “Livin’ In A World Without You” single… don’t you agree?

I know everyone has different tastes and all, but seriously,
the fifth song definitely sounds better than the first!

Listen (and become a fan) here:

PS: You can also win tickets and meet the band on the Facebook page ;)
