Gmail keeps marking RMIT email as spam

There must be a rogue server in the RMIT network that is sending off mass amounts of email spam because no matter how many times I mark messages from “@rmit.edu.au” as Not Spam, Gmail will keep putting it into the spam folder.

Normally, Gmail is pretty accurate about which email is spam and which isn’t. And in the rare cases that it gets something wrong, Gmail is quick to learn the difference. So I can only conclude at this point that despite what I’m telling Gmail, there is something originating from an address with “@rmit.edu.au” that is consistently causing Gmail to reverse my verdict.

What a PITA.

I’m dealing with the same problem. My forum software sends me an email when there are new messages, but Gmail keep sending them to the spam folder. I keep marking them _not spam_, but into the spam folder they keep going.

I suspect that Gmail’s spam filter works with the entire Gmail community. If enough Gmail users mark a message as spam, Gmail will finally start filtering it. If not enough Gmail users are marking messages as not spam, then Gmail doesn’t take it out of it’s filter.

    It’s really super annoying.
