Paranoid Park

I just saw the trailer for Paranoid Park, a movie from Gus Van Sant (notable for films such as Elephant and Good Will Hunting).

The movie is a fictionalized interpretation of an actual park in Portland, Oregon known officially as O’Bryant Park. The film, which is based on a novel by Blake Nelson, follows the story of a young skater who accidentally kills a security guard in a train yard. It was shown at the 60th Cannes Film Festival in 2007 where it won the special 60th Anniversary Prize.

You can watch the HD trailer here.

Paranoid Park is showing as a limited release in select theaters worldwide. However, like many films that debuted at the Cannes Film Festival (or any festival), a rather good torrent of the flick is already floating around online. Not that you didn’t already know that…right?
