New colorful $5 to go into circulation Thursday

On Thursday, March 13, 2008, the United States government will start circulating the new $5 notes that feature new security improvements to deter counterfeiters.
Like the $50, $20, and $10 before it, the new $5 will have a splash of color on its front and back. The portrait of Abraham Lincoln will still be on the new note.

To commemorate the new $5 note, the first $5 will be spent at the gift shop of President Lincoln’s Cottage at the Soldiers’ Home in Washington, D.C. The introduction will begin around 10:30AM EST. If for some reason you haven’t heard of the new redesigned note, you can find out all about its nifty security features by playing with the interactive $5 note.
I’ve included two videos below that give a brief overview of the new $5 bill.
Just a personal remark: THE 5 ON THE BACK (BOTTOM RIGHT) IS HUGE! IT’S EVEN BIGGER THAN THE PREVIOUS BIG 5.
