Wordpress 2.5 sneak peek

The Wordpress Blog has a sneak peek look at the upcoming 2.5 release of their blogging platform. As you may know, Doobybrain.com runs on Wordpress, and to say that I’m looking forward to this next release is a bit of an understatement.

With a customizable dashboard, multi-file upload (finally!!!), BUILT-IN GALLERIES, better tag management, gravatars, and all-around better navigation, this next release of Wordpress looks like it’ll be a winner.

The release candidate is available for download and testing, but if you don’t really want to do that, you can give Wordpress 2.5 RC1 a try by going to the Wordpress 2.5 demo site (username is admin and password is demo). There are some restrictions to the demo site (can’t upload anything or write anything to the server), but overall it’s an easy way to get yourself familiar with the new version without risking your own site.

The only thing I don’t like is the grey box that covers the post writing area when you upload an image/media file.
