What better way to celebrate the American democratic process than to have an iconic American company like the United States Playing Card Company launch a series of limited edition playing cards!

This 2008 election year, the United States Playing Card Company (USPC) is selling three unique playing card decks that will be used in an informal nationwide USPC poll. The decks are representative of the three major political parties in the US and each deck sold will be one “vote” in the USPC online poll. The results are said to be tracked at Bicycle Cards, but at the time of this post there doesn’t seem to be any info about the poll on the site.

The Democrat deck is blue-colored and features a donkey on the back. The Republican deck is red and has a picture of an elephant on the back. And the Independent deck is purple with an image of an eagle on the backside. Each deck also has custom-drawn images of George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Betsy Ross as the court figures (Jack, Queen, King).

I think these are totally awesome decks to collect and own just because they probably won’t be made once this year is over. You can buy all three decks at once on Amazon.com for $14.25 or find them on eBay for a bit cheaper. If you want just a particular deck, you can find it on sale in various outlets (online and in stores) by just doing a simple search.

Hopefully, I’ll be able to get my hands on these decks before it’s too late. THANKS U.S. PLAYING CARD CO.!
