Tishman Speyer has won the bid to develop the Hudson Yards

This just in: Tishman Speyer, owner of such New York landmarks as Rockefeller Center and the Chrysler Center, has just won the bid to develop the West Side Rail Yards (also known as the Hudson Yards).
The winning bid of $1.004 billion was $112 million higher than the bid from The Durst Organization and Vornado Realty Trust.
It is expected to cost $1.5 billion to build a platform over the yards for further construction.
You can find out more about the Hudson Yards development plan from Tishman Speyer at their Hudson Yards development website.

I’m excited for something new to rise up, but I’m also sad because the rail yard will be gone and the entrance to The High Line will most likely be altered or removed. Oh well, can’t stop change!
