On Monday, March 31, a semi-trailer truck drove the wrong way for about 25 miles on Yellowhead Trail Freeway in Edmonton, Canada until the truck hit a guard rail and fell onto the train tracks below, exploding into a ball of flames. The driver of the truck died on impact. [via]
The driver was 25 year-old Mark Santos. His family believes that the cause of the erratic driving behavior was due to a diabetic reaction that sometimes caused severe hypoglycemic reactions that lead to seizures and blackouts.
A woman by the name of Teresa traveling on the opposing side of traffic on the same freeway managed to capture the last dramatic moments on video. This is video you just gotta see.
