New York Mets get Rickroll’d

A couple of days ago, the website for the New York Mets had an online vote for which song would get played during the 8th inning of all Mets baseball games (voting has now ceased).

A link to this voting page was submitted to Digg, and the submitter subsequently asked everyone to essentially Rickroll the Mets for the entire year by requesting that “Never Gonna Give You Up” be played every 8th inning.

Fast forward a couple of days and you now have the Mets receiving a Rickroll during the 8th inning of a game. It’s pretty funny to hear this song played for no reason whatsoever at a baseball game.

I guess the lesson here is: Don’t underestimate the power of those on the internet.

Watch the video below for an amateur video from the game. Listen to all those boos!
