If you saw one of these Mercedes-Benz buses on the street in NYC, you aren’t going crazy. The new Mercedes-Benz Citaro buses are being tested by the MTA for the next 30 days in order to see how well they perform in NYC.

If all goes well, the MTA may place orders for these accordion-style Citaro buses to replace the fleet of New Flyer buses currently in use.

Here’s a Citaro bus followed by a New Flyer bus.
The test buses are currently only running between the Bronx and Manhattan on the M101 line.

I VE been a great mercedes benz fan since my childhood. perhaps not a day would pass without me and the benz . my parents use use to shout at me for waiting just for a benz cab such was my craze for the ebenz range. some day godwilling I would love to visist stuttggart where these marvels are made
I like the design, but it has too many european characteristics. I don’t know who thought of the idea that having a third door on articulated buses would be convient. Also the people who order these buses should take in consideration and understand that having the driver’s mirror higher on the window is a bad idea because it can be problem for a driver is short. Also New York City Transit need a makeover instead of the ordinary blue stripe around its exterior.
3-door Articulated buses are very convenient, especially for inner-city routes. We have some 3-door buses in Seattle, and they load and unload much more easily and quickly than our 2-door buses of the same length.
good job mta i love the way u guys r making it work
they should use it and still use other one
