Calvin Harris - I Created Disco

Where do I begin with Calvin Harris? He makes dance music. That’s pretty much what it is. Except it’s not really your typical boom-tsk-boom-tsk-boom-tsk kind of dance music. It’s more like the dance music you’d hear in a shop. And come to think of it, that’s where I first heard Calvin Harris. It was one of Tate’s CDs playing at work and well, now I can’t hear Calvin Harris without thinking about Melbourne.
And I think that’s a good thing. Because even if I didn’t like the music at first, I really grew to love it over time. I think it encapsulates everything fun and exciting about Melbourne in one CD (at least it does to me). I’ve heard his songs remixed to no end at so many random places that sometimes it’s weird to come back to the original songs and hear them for what they are.
I’m pretty all over the place when it comes to music, so I’m happy to add this CD to my growing spectrum of musical tastes.
I recommend listening to “The Girls” (video below) and “Acceptable In The 80’s”.
