Automatic bicycle parking tower
Those Japanese are at it again, one-upping the rest of the world in technology and convenience. Here is the automatic bicycle parking tower in Kasai Station in Tokyo (says Japan Probe). [via]
For about $1 USD, you can leave your bike at this parking facility and have it retrieved for you by machine in about 23 seconds. And because bicycles are so small, there’s a spot for 9400 bikes in this tower, which is a whole lot more than you can tie to a tree or lamppost.
New York City has its own automated car parking lot (if I remember correctly, it’s on Baxter Street), but we could use an automated bike parking tower too.
