Boomerangs return in space

On March 18, 2008, Japanese astronaut Takao Doi threw a boomerang aboard the International Space Station. The boomerang came back to him just as it would have if he had thrown it on Earth. [via]

Results would have been different however if he had thrown it in the vacuum of space because there would be no “uneven forces” to make the boomerang come back. It would simply just keep going in a straight path until it hit something or until it got drawn in by another body’s gravitational force.
