Fire spinning with steel wool
Here’s something I just learned: You can start a fire with a 9-volt battery and some steel wool (something like a Brillo pad/scrub). I don’t really know the science behind it, but a friend tells me that the steel gets incredibly hot very quickly because it touches both ends of the 9-volt battery and thus causes a short-circuit.
Anyway, the point is that you can start a fire with steel wool and a 9-volt.
Once you’ve got a fire going, you can then attach the steel wool to some rope and basically create a fabulous show. See the video below.
