How I Spent My Stimulus

In January, Congress approved $152 billion in economic stimulus checks for millions of American households, intended to boost the economy and avert a recession. These stimulus checks were sent out at the end of April and are still in the process of being delivered to everybody who qualifies to receive one.

How I Spent My Stimulus aims to document how some people are spending their newfound money. It’s interesting to note that although the checks are meant to be spent on buying goods and services in the US, some are taking the money and spending it abroad (for example, the image above).

If anything, the website is a great peek into how Americans are spending money in general. Some are choosing to buy necessary items, others are choosing to not spend the money at all (not the point of the stimulus package), and others are choosing to buy some very ridiculous things (both in single quantities and in very, very, very excessive quantities).
