Police vehicle with subwoofers to blast you away

Gizmodo has a post up about the Rumbler, an add-on for general emergency vehicle sirens that uses a subwoofer system to create low-frequency sounds that can cut through urban city noise. The subwoofer in the Rumbler is powerful enough to create vibrations to warn pedestrians to get out of the way.

Anyway, the video that Gizmodo posted is crap, so I went and searched for another one that better demonstrates how the Rumbler actually works and sounds (the video is above).

And just for fun, this is the siren system that every police vehicle in New York City is equipped with. It’s called the SS2000. Apparently, you can play with one of these siren systems at the New York City Police Museum (WHAT?! There’s such a thing? I had no idea! How cool!!!).
