It turns out that Joe Mansfield isn’t just engraving skateboard decks with beards. He’s also using his laser-etching machine to make the standard Moleskine notebook into a work of art.

At Engrave Your Book, you can submit up to 3 designs for a chance to have your artwork printed on a Moleskine cover. If chosen, you will receive 15% each time your artwork is sold.

The examples really are quite something. Check them out.

If you’re simply just looking for a very nice gift to give, then also take a look at the custom engraving section for pricing. It’s pretty neat they can not only custom engrave the cover, but they can also engrave something onto the spine as well!

There are heaps of examples in the Flickr photostream.
