That was a disappointment

Back in December I was surprised to find out that I Am Legend was a movie about vampires. Since then, I seemed to have forgotten all about the vampire part simply because I didn’t keep up with the film or how it was being received by viewers and critics. I never got to see the film in theaters.

So yesterday, I finally watched I Am Legend pretty much without any thoughts about it whatsoever. I just simply wanted to watch it because I wanted to see what NYC would look like in quarantine.

Then suddenly, a vampire pops out of nowhere.

I am seriously sitting there saying out loud, “WHAT.”

I can’t believe that I Am Legend is a vampire movie! I just can’t believe it. I hate vampire movies. And I don’t hate vampire movies because I think they’re scary. I hate them because they’re always so stupid. I just think vampire movies are dumb. The only vampire/zombie movie I’ve ever liked was 28 Days Later. Everything else I’ve ever seen with vampires in it was rubbish, and to some extent I Am Legend is part of that group of not-so-great movies.

I am in complete agreement. ‘I Am Legend’ was a huge disappointment, but did you see the alternative ending? It made up for it a little bit for me. And I’m a huge fan of the 28 Days/Weeks Later series.

err, this bothers me cause they aren’t vampires. if you pay attention carefully to the story, the “vampires” are just de-evolutionized humans who when made contact with, causes the virus to transmit over as easily as the common cold.

they die if they stay in the light dont they? and they eat people. they’re vampires. they certainly aren’t human. even will smith’s character says that in the film.
