For those who don’t know, Missy Higgins is an award-winning singer/songwriter from Melbourne, Australia. I was introduced to her music through friends who sort of know her from random circles in Melbourne.

Anyway, I’m surprised she’s not more famous over in the states because she’s very good. I’d group her along with the recent renaissance of female vocalists like KT Tunstall, Rachel Yamagata, Sara Bareilles, and Tristan Prettyman. It’s that sort of pop/rock music that’s easy to listen to just about anywhere at anytime.

On A Clear Night is her second studio album released at the end of April 2008 so it’s still fairly fresh.
