NEW FAVORITE BLOG: The Big Picture (The Boston Globe)

The Boston Globe has started a new photo blog called The Big Picture that displays a very large photo from particular headline news stories. It’s awesome to see photos this big, even if they aren’t necessarily hi-res.
With the steadily increasing numbers of people connecting to the internet on a broadband connection, it just makes sense for news websites to start to steer away from the traditional thumbnail-sized image for news stories.
Since The Boston Globe is owned by The New York Times Company, I can only hope that The New York Times will eventually do something like this as well (although, I guess it wouldn’t need to since most major newspaper images of national stories come from only a few select sources).
The big pictures of the uncontacted Amazon tribe are fantastic and eerie (posted about previously here)!
