A drunk driver has killed one bicyclist and seriously injured 10 others when his car hit a group of cyclists during a race on the US-Mexico border. [via]
The cyclists were competing in the third annual Matamoros-Bagdad Cycling Tour.
I was hoping that this was Photoshop’d, but unfortunately, it isn’t. And there are more photos (some are quite graphic).
From the image description:
Cyclists were participating in a race from Matamoros to Bagdad Beach, when drunk driver Jesse Campos, a Brownsville, Texas resident, in his Ford Grand Marquis, license 659-FKF from Texas, impacted seven cyclists, even as they were being escorted by Local Transit Officials.
Man. That is one crazy and amazing photo.

Scary picture , a USA resident driving drunk in Mexico…. tragic.
Whoa, you mean for once we killed mexicans drunk driving in mexico? I’m used to hearing vice versa here.
Geez… Get it right – it was a mexican driving the car, NOT an american.
I’m glad I wasn’t there. As a long-time bicyclist, such incidents force me to be extra vigilant. I have been in three accidents, all minor, just some minor scrapes and bruising. One time, I was hit by a Federal Express van. The driver got out and exclaimed “Oh Jesus Christ! Oh God! I could have killed you!”. He then called his insurance agent to report this, and offered to take me to a nearby clinic. All the drivers who hit me asked if I’m OK or need to go to the hospital. The worst that I’ve experienced was bike thefts, 18 in all.
