Desktopography: Nature-inspired graphic design wallpapers

I guess I’m a bit late to hear about it, but I just saw this link to Desktopography over at Criterion and I was totally surprised at the quality of wallpaper work available for download there.

Desktopography is an invite-only wallpaper project that dares to fuse nature with technology. By incorporating natural landscapes with digital manipulation, Desktopography hopes to liven up a designer’s desktop so that it’s a bit more pleasant to be in front of for long periods at a time.

The project has been active since 2005 and all wallpapers are available for free download in a variety of desktop sizes.

Oh, and the site is hosted by Customize.org. Wow, I haven’t been there in ages. There used to be a time when I would spend all day there going through submissions. That place sure has changed.
