At the moment, a quick search for “IKEA Brooklyn” in my Google Reader subscriptions lists a total of 241 entries written about the brand new store in Red Hook that opened today.

I swear, if I read another headline with the word IKEA in it, I will go crazy!

There really is nothing spectacular about this except for the fact that Brooklyn residents can’t and won’t shut up about how it is messing up their neighborhood. It’s a furniture store that also sells food for goodness’ sake. If that’s endangering your neighborhood, then I feel bad for you.

I fail to see the excitement in all of this.
