The Manhole Lifter uses a strong magnet and a lever system to pry open manhole covers up to 400 pounds in weight. Because of the leverage system used, the amount of effort required top operate this device is minimal compared to actually having to lift it up with human muscle.

Although, I hear stories of MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF COCKROACHES fleeing the scene every single time a manhole cover is opened in NYC. That’s gross enough to make me want to leave the prying behind.
