My new My Pal 2

This past Christmas, while I was away in Melbourne, Simon got me a My Pal 2 off eBay. Since I was away from home, I wasn’t able to actually see the robot until just now.

For those who don’t know, My Pal 2 was a pretty cool toy back in my childhood days. It’s a robot that kept me busy a lot with puzzles, pseudo-basketball, and lots of random lights and sound. If I had to trace it back to something, I’d say my love for robots started with this thing.

Anyway, sometime ago (I don’t recall exactly when), the original My Pal 2 that I owned got lost or something. And I’ve been wanting a replacement robot just like it so I could put it around to remind me of my childhood. This “new” My Pal 2 is in pristine condition.

It looks really out of place in my room, but I imagine that it comes to life like the toys do in Toy Story and that when it does, it’s the coolest toy in the room.

The quesiton I have though is this: Where the heck is My Pal 1? Also, why is My Pal 2000, the supposed “upgrade” to My Pal 2, so utterly ridiculous?

You know, I’ve always been somewhat fascinated by this toy robot, yet scared to death of him, lol. And I do agree, My Pal 2000 was in fact a ridiculous toy. Basically worthless.

I had one of those my pal 2′s and he to be fair was literally my best friend for awhile. I thought i was doing a just and honourable thing passing it down to my nephew immagine my horror when i was in browsing through some of his toys to find my former best buddy with no feet or cap or ball i was distraught then i got a major kick in the balls when it hit me i have a son of my own now i could have saved him for. Absolutely gutted.
