Christian the friendly lion

I’ve posted about this friendly lion before, but at the time I didn’t have any background information on the lion or the two men in the video.

It turns out that the lion’s name is Christian and that he was adopted by two men — John Rendall and Ace Berg — in 1969 as a cub and raised until fully grown. When Christian became an adult lion, the two men set him free in Africa [allegedly].

After about a year, John and Ace went against the best advice of their friends and went and visited Christian in his wild habitat, not knowing exactly if Christian had become a wild beast. Surprisingly, Christian recognized the two men and immediately ran up to them and gave them hug after hug after hug.
