Just a thought…

Let’s say you have an iPhone (first version or 3G version). And let’s say that this iPhone, which you probably use as both an MP3 player and a cellular device, runs out of batteries. Now, not only are you out of a phone, but you are out of music as well!
A total shame that the iPhone does not come with a replaceable battery. You’ll have to carry a damned computer or sync cord with you everywhere you go.
I don’t know why, but this seems to me like a pretty significant deciding factor when choosing between the two. No thanks. I’d prefer my music and cellphone to be separate (at least until battery life goes well beyond my reasonable usage amount).

At one point the iPhone rumors indicated that the device would have two separate batteries, one for music and one for the phone, so you couldn’t impact the use of one by over-using the other. I thought that sounded like a great idea. I guess it didn’t actually get implemented.

agreed (and of course true of any mp3-playing phone, like the verizon chocolate). What if there’s an emergency and you have no phone from listening to music too much? what’s the fun of the mp3-player function if you’re afraid to “overuse” it, especially considering how much the iphone costs!
