Ave Fenix fire station in Mexico City

Believe it or not, the building above is a fire station located in Mexico City. The name given to this fire station is “Ave Fenix”, which is very appropriate since the “Fenix” is a bird on fire.

The fire station is built by at 103 and BGP arquitectura. The building exterior is chrome-like in appearance with slits in between the chrome plates to let light through. At night (shown above), the building exerts a very nice glow that makes it look like a big Apple cube (in fact, when I first saw this photo, I thought I was looking at an Apple Store).

The building not only serves as the fire station but also as a recruiting center, with some large spaces inside that are possibly dedicated for community events.

Arch Daily has some more photos of this beautiful firehouse.
