Pretty much everywhere but in the United States, the Ford Focus is quite a remarkable and successful car. For whatever crazy reason, the Ford Motor Company decided to make the US version of the Focus a completely ugly car that almost nobody would choose if it weren’t for budgetary constraints.
Why is the US Ford Focus so ugly? I don’t know. But if you compare it to other international versions of the same car with the same name, you get a totally different impression of the vehicle.
I remember when I first arrived in Australia, one of the things I noticed was that the Ford Focus there looked like a racecar. It was mean-looking and it was beefy. It didn’t look like it’s slimmed-down and basic US counterpart.
But here’s some good news! Due to falling profit margins at the Ford Motor Company, Ford is bringing over 6 vehicles from its smaller European lineup by 2012, and one of those vehicles is the European Ford Focus. Whee!
maybe the focus looks better everywhere else in the world. ’cause i saw it in beijing and i thought it was a really cool looking car. better than the US’ pos version.
yeah, the US version really is a POS. the Australian version looked like a racecar.

Yes this is a car not just transport appliance as US model is. Perhaps this is the main reason why US car cos failed. They brought in Euro cars and changed them fot “American” tase. And ruined them. Remember Mistique or Mistake as even ford people called it? Now that my beloved Saab will be history I’ll wait for Focus and buy the top model. They are all over Europe and people just love to buy them and hold on to them. Think, along Fiesta Focus will be fighting Toyota and honda small cars and win.Finally Ford gets it. GM & Chrysler are still dumb as as before.
