Sam Zien tells NBC Today hosts to be quiet

On July 23, Sam Zien, the author of “Sam the Cooking Guy”, gave Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford of the Today show a stern warning to keep quiet while he cooked. [via]

Since the start of last week, I’ve watched the Today show every single morning and somehow I missed this hilarious segment. Man, the tensions in that room must have been high.

I finally heard about this also; finally someone had the courage on nat’l tv to tell KL Gifford and Kobt to be quiet- the poor guy could not get a word in esp. during a rushed 2 minute segment. Let Gifford apologize.

Good for you Sam!! He’s right about these host just talking over the guest and each other all the time. He was asked to be a guest on the show to show off his talent and pass useful information on to the viewers. Too bad he’ll never get asked back on the show for doing what they asked him to do… Thank you Howard Stern for telling us about this clip.

FINALLY! I watch this morning show and they CONSTANTLY talk over their guests, they just like hearing their own voices and it’s about time someone told these two to be QUIET!

how the heck is kathy lee and her incessant big mouth still on TV. its got to be the one part of the TODAY show that people tune out. SHUT UP and let us hear what an expert cook is telling us. please support this guy to show this spoiled brat, crybaby woman that we’re glad someone told her to shut her trap

  6. Rob says:

Kathy Lee took offense at what was obviously justified, at least the other host did stop talking over the chef and allow him his time. K. Lee continued making faces and comments, truley unprofessional.

  7. BabaBooey says:

I would never talk over my bof like that. I should bite Kathie Lee’s lips with my teefh and give her my baba flunky monkey meat! Who who ha ha!!!

How are these 2 robots even the hosts of this show? They are the hosts!? No personality. It doesn’t make any sense. They’re horrible soulless people. That’s why I don’t watch the show. So boring. The only time this show was “good” was for 1 minute when this guy was on. I’m gonna go buy Sam’s cooking book just to support how awesome he is.

    ps… BabaBooey… you’re the best!

I agree with the masses; Kathy Lee and her co-host are annoying! They never shut up. They keep saying “Whadda got, whadda got?” over and over! Ask a question and shut up for the amswer. I think Sam the Cooking Guy is right on.

I have never seen the show prior to this clip but I definitely feel that Chef Sam’s actions were justified. The sound of the two hostesses annoying chatter gave me a headache in the first 5 seconds of the clip. Go Sam!!

Can someone explain to me why NBC can’t muzzle these two bimbos and force them to let their guests speak without being constantly interrupted? It’s such a common complaint that it has to be killing whatever ratings they have.
