Has anybody else noticed this? Why the hell are those buttons so close to the input area?
I’m not 100% sure this is a Firefox problem. It could actually be a problem with Google’s page, but it seems like a silly mistake for such a simple page like this.

If you mean stupid, use the word stupid. Your use of the word retarded really is so hurtful and demeaning to all people with special needs. I know that probably wasn’t your intention but couldn’t you have come up with a different word? Please???

I used to get annoyed with people “misusing” the word retarded as well, until I realized that the connotation of the word is slowly changing. If one were really careful not to offend people with special needs, then one cannot use the words “idiotic” or “dumb” or “imbecile” among many other terms that were originally former academic terms for the mentally retarded. Do you use these latter words when referring to people being foolish?
Nach, I try my best not to use any words that can cause hurt. The truth is that the words idiotic, dumb, imbecile can be hurtful but today are not used as medical diagnosis. There are still divisions of social services that are called Office of Mental Retardation. That is slowly changing because the term implies stupid. When you say “what’s up with the retarded spacing” aren’t you just saying how stupid is this? It just implies that with living with cognitive impairment or intellectual disability are stupid. My child has special needs. The bottom line is that people use the term (I’m not saying you) to call people like her retards, tards, rere, etc. It’s just a hurtful word and if there is a chance you could find another it would be most appreciated. Ben Stiller’s new movie Tropic Thunder has a movie within a movie. The poster for Simple Jack says “Once upon a Time… There was A Retard.” Allowing people to continue to use the word just hurts, plain and simple. You wouldn’t be able to use the N word in that sentence or the word faggot. In any event, the word retard causes as much pain to the special needs community as the N word does to the African American community. Unfortunately you’d have to walk in my shoes to truly understand it.
