The Grand View Hotel is on its own roundabout

How often do you see a house that occupies its own roundabout? Well, I don’t see them too often, and there’s apparently such a house in Queens (NYC) that does just that. The house is located at 13th Avenue and 123rd Street in Collee Point.

The house used to be owned by a man by the name of Herman Schleicher and eventually ended up being converted into a hotel known today as the Grand View Hotel, for its spectacular views of the East Bay and Flushing River. Apparently, there are some issues with the landlord of that lot.

Anyway, all issues aside, wouldn’t it be great to live on an “island” like that? I think it would be.
