Chrome messenger bag quick release and D-ring

I’ve always been a big fan of Chrome bags (ever since I got my Kozmo.com pizza bag several years back), but I’ve never actually jumped ship and got one for myself.

Simon recently bought one for himself and after testing it out and wearing it around for a bit, I can safely say that I’m a convert. I’m going to pick one up as soon as I can. For one, the bag is uber-comfortable. The strap pad is made of EVA padding and the entire bag strap is sewn onto the bag in such a way that the bag has to sit the way it should — right on top of your back as you ride.

But the one thing that is making me want to switch is the D-ring quick release on the strap. I couldn’t believe how easy it was to make the strap shorter and longer just by lifting up the buckle. Tightening it is literally a one-hand maneuver, and loosening could also be done with one hand lifting the D-ring and letting the weight of the bag take over. It’s really doesn’t look as easy as it is.

All of this, of course, is part of the incredibly high-quality of the bag itself. I always wondered why so many messengers out there wore Chrome bags, and now I know why — they’re simply one of the best.
